The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has just notified Griffiss Local Development Corp. (GLDC) that the 24,000 GSF Griffiss Institute Expansion has received sufficient LEED credits for a "Silver Rating". This is actually a higher rating than originally targeted.
Bonacci Architects, pllc and their consultants: Towne Engineering and Klepper, Hahn & Hyatt, PC, were the design team for the first "LEED" certified green building at the park. The Prime Contractor(s) for the project were George A. Nole & Son, Inc. and Savoy-Joseph, Inc. This achievement would not be possible without the owner (GLDC) embracing the idea of sustainable design. The end result is a highly energy efficient building with a healthy indoor environment for all its occupants.
Bonacci Architects, pllc continues to work with GLDC on further tenant fit-ups for the remaining space in the building.
